| Oh, What a Night…..
The FCA's 60th anniversary celebration
was a night to remember and the FCA office was inundated
by compliments from the Membership.
The event held at the Stratford
Moathouse Stratford upon Avon on 14 September 2002 marked
our 60 years as the industry's leading trade organisation.
Extra space had to be found for
the numbers who attended this very special evening.
'We were overwhelmed by the response,' said chief executive
Wendy Baker,
There was a spectacular cabaret
performed by ‘The Grumbleweeds’ followed
by dancing into the early hours to ‘The Elastic
Band’ and guests celebrated this once in a lifetime
anniversary in true style.
'We wanted to mark the occasion
with both a celebration and an opportunity for the FCA
to look back at what has been a extremely busy 60 years
since the FCA was first founded and we certainly succeeded
in achieving that,' said chairman Ian Frost.
Also in attendance were the Past chairmen of the Association,
as well as former members who have now retired.
There was an opportunity for people
to renew acquaintances and swap memories, as well as
musing over just what the industry will be like during
the next 60 years.
The evening got underway with pre-dinner
drinks at 6pm followed by an excellent dinner at 7pm.
Afterwards top celebrity comedy group 'The Grumbleweeds'
took to the stage and there brand of brilliant clean
comedy left everyone exhausted with laughter. Then for
those who felt energetic enough the super 'Elastic Band'
played music to dance to for all tastes.
Yes it truly was “Oh what
a night”
Our next Social event is the FCA
Charity Golf Day to be held once again, at the prestigious
Marriott St. Pierre Golf & County Club Chepstow
on Friday 27 June 2003.
