FCA GALA BALL 2004 – YORK MOATHOUSE
Firstly, many thanks to all who have taken the time to express their appreciation to myself and the FCA team, both on the night and over the last few days for our efforts in putting on what can only be described as “A truly memorable night”.
Comments such as hilariously funny, a fantastically entertaining evening etc have been flooding in. No doubt the antics of the Comedy Waiters (Spanner in the Works) will long be remembered and will afford much laughter in the future when recounting the event.
The spoof canapés, guests searching in vain for the waitress's lost contact lens,
a waiter taking a sneaky swig from a hidden bottle of wine, that maintenance man
causing havoc and when the sweet trolley 'bites back' are just a few of the side splitting, comical, entertainingly funny parts of the show.
Spanner in the Works were followed by the dazzling musical entertainment provided by “John Oliver Live” who performed an excellent cabaret spot, bringing alive the music of “Queen”, “Grease” and “Abba” to name but a few. This was followed by music to dance to and whatever your taste there was something in there for everyone. The infectious sound just wouldn’t let your feet stop tapping, your hands stop clapping and it was virtually impossible to sit the dance out. The whole evening was strung together by an excellent Toast Master (Mr Bernard Thain).
On behalf of myself and the FCA staff, we would like to thank all who attended for their support, because without that, there would be no social functions.
Wendy Baker (Chief Executive)
