FCA members putt and shoot past £60,000 total
FCA members marked the 10th anniversary of their annual charity golf day by raising a fabulous £14,529, bringing the grand total raised for charity since 1998 to £60,029!
Kindly sponsored by Betafence and over 30 companies and organisations, this year’s event was held at the Marriott St Pierre Golf and Country Club in Chepstow, with clay pigeon shooting at LLanishen, nr Chepstow.
Despite a poor weather forecast, the rain held off for the 128 golfers who turned out to meet the challenge of the Chepstow course. A caddying service was provided by Haberdashers’ Monmouth School for Girls, to help fund their 2008 lacrosse tour to Canada.
The overall team winners were J & G Fencing and John Pugh from Barrier Services Ltd scooped the individual title. The clay pigeon shooting was won by Josh King from Balmer Lindley Group. For a full list of all the winners click here.
The day culminated with a gala presentation dinner, with comedian Adger Brown keeping the guests entertained with his brilliant wit.
Wendy Baker, Chief Executive of the FCA said: “It was a fabulous event and on behalf of the FCA, I’d like to thank everyone for their generous support. Passing the £60,000 total raised for charity was the end to a perfect day!”
Money raised from the evening will be donated to St Oswald’s Hospice, The Anthony Nolan Trust, PACT, Prostate Cancer, Meningitis Trust and Haberdashers’ Monmouth School for Girls.
